Building Resiliency for Business Owners

What it is

Running a small business through the Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenging experience for many.  This support group is for owners of small to medium sized businesses hard hit by the pandemic to connect with other business owners and learn skills in a supportive environment. Join fellow business owners for weekly sessions in an open and supportive setting for conversation and mutual learning. Attending a group can help foster a sense of connection, validation and knowingness that you are not alone in your struggles.  

As part of the Building Resiliency for Business Owners group, participants will work in a group format with a dedicated Layla partner therapist. Participants will learn DBT-based techniques and strategies to build resilience and effectively navigate uncertainty. Open to residents of Ontario, 18+. Topics include: mindfulness for self-awareness, self-regulation, cultivating presence and effective communication.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do online sessions work?

There will be up to 8 participants in each group. Over the course of the 4 week program, participants will work with a dedicated Layla therapist to learn DBT-based strategies and skills to effectively navigate the workplace and cultivate a mindful leadership presence. 

Sessions will be conducted through secure video, and participants will be asked to commit to confidentiality. Only your first name will be used with other group members and sessions will not be recorded.

How much does the Building Resiliency for Business Owners group cost?

Layla has partnered with Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) to offer funded mental health support solutions to owners and employees of small and medium sized businesses hard hit by the pandemic.

This funding is focussed on supporting owners and employees of small and medium sized businesses that meet the following criteria:

- Part of a small or medium sized business negatively impacted by the pandemic

- Limited or no access to insurance benefits

- Not a government employee

When program is full, waitlist options are available

Registration is open on a rolling basis and each group will only remain open while spots are available or until 5 business days before the start of the group. If you would like to join the waitlist for a specific group, please email us and a coordinator will reach out to you to discuss options.
