Kathryn works with individuals and couples, including LGBTQ clients. She helps clients with verbal communication challenges and intimate/sexual communication challenges in their relationships so her clients can move from emotional disconnectedness to connectedness. She also helps clients cope with medical issues to increase: quality of life, self-awareness and acceptance. Both require her expertise in anxiety, depression, life changes, loss, grief, and trauma. Kathryn works with clients to understand connections between thoughts and emotions, which help manage negative thinking patterns. Incorporating mindfulness helps her clients be present oriented. Kathryn believes goals are more achievable when clients engage in practice activities in between sessions. So yes, she provides homework! Kathryn appreciates that reaching out makes clients feel vulnerable. She also knows that reaching out is the first step to processing challenging emotions and situations that can help clients move toward the life they want to live. With her gentle, inquisitive, down to earth, holistic style, she provides her clients with a safe space to share their story.
