Digital Accessibility at Layla
Overview
Layla is helping Canadians find mental health support with greater confidence, clarity, and human connection. This is only possible when our platform is accessible for people navigating unique differences in the way they interact with technology. We attempt to build with that in mind from the start.
Where we stand today
Based on our work to-date, we believe our site and platform meet the foundational technical requirements of WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This includes things like color contrast, text alternatives for images, keyboard navigation, form labeling, and consistent page structure. We test for these requirements regularly, using both automated tools and manual review.
What we're still working on
Achieving complete accessibility requires us to go further than any tool we have access to. Take how a screen reader handles a multi-step booking flow, or whether focus states work properly inside a modal, or how well a complex form explains an error when something goes wrong. These detailed steps in the user flow require a real person to test them. Layla is committed to continue to expand our manual testing activities, and build accessibility checks into how we design and build features. We'll publish updates on this page when applicable as our work evolves.
Tell us if something doesn't work
Accessibility is never fully finished, and we acknowledge that things can be missed. This is why the feedback from the people who are using the website and platform is important for the continued improvement of its accessibility. If you run into a barrier such as a screen reader issue, a process you can't complete by keyboard, or text that's hard to read, please tell us.
