How much does therapy cost at Layla?

Will my benefits help cover the cost of my therapy?

Psychotherapy is commonly covered under workplace or student benefits plans. Check with your provider to learn more.

Please note that therapy at Layla isn't covered by provincial health plans like OHIP or MSP.

Therapy is too expensive, is there another option?

Yes. Layla has a low-cost service at $35/session, delivered by supervised therapists completing their registration requirements under the direct supervision of a registered masters-level clinician. At this time, this program is only available in Ontario and Alberta.

Layla therapists are located in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and Nova Scotia with availability on evenings, weekends and weekdays, depending on therapist availability.

Are there Layla therapists in my city?

Layla's therapist community offers in-person and virtual care in many major cities and several smaller towns in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and Halifax. In-person therapy options are subject to therapist availability.

Are Layla's therapists licensed and registered?

Yes, every Layla therapist is registered with their provincial regulatory body or professional association, and Layla verifies each therapist's credentials and standing before they join the community.

What training do Layla therapists have? 

Layla therapists have an average of 10+ years of experience, with a Masters-level (or equivalent) training in Social Work (Clinical Focus), Clinical/Counselling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or a related field from a reputable institution.

How quickly can I see a therapist at Layla?

On average, Layla's team matches individuals with a therapist in 48 hours, and the first therapy session takes place within 1-2 weeks.

Is Layla Care Canadian?

Yes, Layla is a Canadian organization and all of our therapists are Canadian residents and registered to practice in Canada.

Does Layla support complex mental health concerns? 

Yes, Layla can support individuals experiencing complex mental health concerns that might include trauma, mood disorders, addictions, suicidality and others. In some cases we may refer clients to other services if clinically indicated.

What is the Layla matching call?

The Layla therapist matching call is a free 15-minute call with a care coordinator who has been trained to support you in finding the right therapist for your needs.

Do I need a referral to get a psychological assessment?

No, Layla's psychological assessments do not require a referral from a doctor. If you are interested in having an assessment, you can get started here.
