Frequently asked questions
SFBT may be a good approach for people who are working through a specific goal or decision and who want a practical, structured path forward. If you're looking to explore something in more depth or aren't sure what the goal is yet, Layla's care coordinators can help you figure out which therapist in our community may be right for you.
Both are structured and goal-oriented approaches; what differs is the focus. CBT looks closely at the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in order to shift patterns. Meanwhile, SFBT spends less time analyzing the problem and more time understanding what change looks like and the practical steps to help you get there. Many therapists may draw on both approaches depending on your goals.
