Information for Clients

Vocational Mental Health

What we do

Our Vocational Mental Health programs support clients who are dealing with issues that are impacting their ability to work and have insurance (whether workplace or private) that will fund their evaluation/assessment and/or treatment.

Common Issues:

  • Trauma (complex trauma, Adjustment Disorder, PTSD, etc.)
  • Depression
  • Anxiety (Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, etc.)
  • Chronic Pain
  • Addictions (*if inpatient treatment is not needed)
  • Interpersonal issues
  • Sleep Issues
  • Burnout
  • Self-Esteem
  • Eating-related Issues (disorders or problematic behaviours)

Who you would work with

We have a team of specially-trained therapists that provide our vocational mental health (VMH) work. These therapists use a variety of evidence-based psychotherapy approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, etc.) to help support functional and quality of life improvements.

Our team consists of Psychologists, Registered Social Workers (Masters or PhD level), and Psychotherapists (in ON where Psychotherapy is regulated). Who you are matched with depends on a number of factors including:

  • What your insurance covers
  • Whether you need a diagnosis
  • Clinical fit*

*Clinical fit refers to factors such as client preference in therapeutic modality, therapist experience and ability to treat client’s specific presenting issues, other client preferences (logistics, therapist personal identifiers, etc.)

How it works

Depending on the company or organization that is funding your care, the referral/connection process may look different. Contact us at vmh@layla.care or 647-374-4211 and our Program Coordinator will be happy to walk you through next steps given your specific situation.

You can also direct your Case Manager, Nurse Consultant, or Rehab Consultant to our website:

For referring providers through private insurance

For referring providers through workplace insurance

Mental health support - Disability

Cost:

Because you have insurance funding either through a workplace insurance or LTD claim, sessions are generally mostly or fully covered by your insurer. Once you connect with us, we will explore with your insurance contact (Case Manager, Nurse Consultant, Rehab Consultant, etc.) and communicate to you what would be covered for your assessment, evaluation, and/or treatment.
